Raichu has emerged from the depths of my messy room to guide me in adequately portraying his mouse thunder-godiness!
But seriously, I had forgotten that I even owned a Raichu plushie. XD
Raichu plushy says: "Rai-chu!"
Translation: "WTF you wimpy mortal, get to work on that cosplay or imma electrocute dat a**!"
Today is being spent cleaning up around the place, doing laundry and whatnot. Once it's cleaned I'm probably going to mess it up with all my cosplay junk. I mean, cutting up the pieces is the messiest part!

Supplies for Raichuu
Went shopping at some thrift stores for Raichu today! Supplies from Goodwill would have only cost about $10 if I hadn't splurged on two more dresses for me (red and blue for makeshift flareon or vaporeon cosplays if needed) and some boots for my mom. XD I bought way more than I needed, but at least this way I have somewhat of a backup. I'm planning on starting with the fleece jacket thing, cutting off the sleeves, taking in the sides a bit, cutting off the black neck and zippered part, sewing some of the middle back up so my chest isn't all hanging out all willy nilly. Pictures below!
Then I went to pat-catans and purchased stiff brown felt for the ears on the hat (which now I'm wondering if I should just make it a headband for simplicity's sake.) I already have yellow fabric left over from pikachu costume to use for the inside of the ear.
Then I got flimsy brown felt from Michael's for the stripes on Raichu's back.
Sadly, I havent had a chance to make it to Jo-Ann's yet. Maybe if I had went there in the first place, I could have found EVERYTHING I needed instead of having to check 5 different places. XD I tried Target for some cheap brown gloves, but they didn't have any! I am so bummed out that these stores don't have the things they used to!
Items still needed to obtain: brown winter boots (somewhere in my closet back at home), cream-colored felt for the belly, brown gloves, orange fleece for the hat (unless I decide to just to a headband, then I'd just need... a headband XD), stuffing (back at my dorm), cord for the tail, and yellow fleece for the lightning bolt on the tail (which I have leftover from pikachu).
Comments or suggestions are always welcomed and appreciated! :3
(It's really red, not pink. o.O)

Raichu... I choose YOU! :P
I've decided to go with Raichu. I'm going to see if anyone notices that I "evolve" the next day. XD
First order of business, getting fabric. The hat shouldn't be too difficult since I can just modify the methods I used for pikachu, but the ears I'm gonna need to do some major brainstorming for tweaking. I'd prefer to just find an orange scoop dress or off the shoulder dress for the body, but if I have no luck then I'll need to figure out what kind of fabric and pattern to use. I think for the hands and feet I'm just going to use plain brown gloves and socks.
Idea: I could also add orange or brown thigh-hi or knee-high's.
This year I wont have a bag buddy to carry around stuff, and since we're commuting each day, I don't have a hotel room to store stuff either. If I wear shoes to the con (since it will be winter) I'll just have to carry them around all day. My winter boots are brown... maybe I'll just wear those as my feet/paws.
Oooh... this is going to be my first con being single. Aside from lacking a bag carrier and con-buddy, this might be my chance to break out of my shell and actually engage in conversation with random con-goers without having somebody to cling to. But I'm still sad that the friend I sorta made at the last con never responded to my facebook message :(
Comments, suggestions, and anything else are always appreciated! >w<
Ohayocon 2012 Cosplay brainstorming
I'm having the hardest time picking a cosplay for Ohayocon. I want to do something new, pokemon themed or not. Here's some ideas I have:
Rydia (from FF4) - She would be awesome, but it's a bit skimpy for my tastes.
Liligant (Pokemon gen 5) - It would be really cute, but a bit difficult for my sewing skills and fabric budget.
Eevee - Really really cute and in my taste, but a little easy. Plus I hear a lot of people are going to be Eevee at Ohayocon this year. Oops, I didn't include this in the concept art, but I'd probably want to make an eevee fleece hat or ears too.
Meganium (Pokemon gen 2) - This one has actually made it to the cosplay art concept phase XD I have a green dress and a green shirt I could wear underneath, so I'd just need to make the flower neck part and the antenna. And find shoes. And I could even wear my green wig with it.
Raichu - Raichu would be pretty simple and cute. Plus! If I wanted to be really clever, I could wear the pikachu cosplay in the morning and the Raichu cosplay in the evening (or the next day. And see if anyone notices that I evolved. XD)
I really need to just make up my mind and buy some fabric and get working on one of these! Or other ideas are most welcomed! Please someone help me pick one >.< Gahhhhh!

Old Cosplay: Touko/White (Colossalcon 2011)
Alright, this is the Touko cosplay that I actually had to do some real sewing for, unlike the pikachu cosplay (although for that I did make the hat from scratch.)
The only things I didn't alter were the tank top and socks. I had to cut my shorts and add the white fabric. I decorated a white hat with a fabric marker. I made the jacked from a turtleneck and the wristbands from the scraps (plus pink duct tape). The boots got some snazzy pink duct tape and pink laces. I made the bag from scratch the night before, with the help from one of my good friends. I bought Tepig and Oshawott from the dealers hall. I love my little plushies <3 This year I think I'm gonna get Snivy too, that ungrateful smug... lizard... >.>
So I pretty much love to wear this cosplay. Here are some newer pictures:

Old Cosplay: Pikachu (Ohayocon 2011)
Here are some pictures of my Pikachu cosplay. I made it over the course of a few weeks to wear at Ohayocon. It's more of a "pikachu gijinka" (cute anthropomorphism) than just a pikachu costume.
Here are some pictures I just took, trying it on again for the first time in over a year. The tail needs some work. XD [Updated pictures will be added when I stop being lazy XD]

I think next post I'll discuss my past two cosplays, Pikachu (from last year's Ohayocon) and Touko (from last Colossalcon). After that, I'll get on about my newest cosplay for the next Ohayocon.
I hope I get some subscribers! >w< Please subscribe! I swear it'll be worth your while!
